Fat Dissolving
Fat Dissolving injections are a safe and effective way to permanently get rid of stubborn fat pockets, no matter what size you are.
How does fat dissolving work?
Fat dissolving uses Phosphatidylcholine as the main ingredient to breakdown the fat. Phosphatidylcholine is derived from soybeans thus you should not have the treatment if you are allergic to soybeans. Phosphatidylcholine is injected with very fine needles directly into the unwanted fat deposits. The fat is broken down into a soluble form and removed by normal liver and kidney function.
What are the benefits?
- Permanent results – if diet and exercise are maintained (it is important to drink lots of water which is a plus.)
- Visible improvement – this can be seen in stubborn fat areas or if you are trying to contour an area like the jawline.
- Treatment – a quick treatment, there are no incisions/ scarring after treatment, no general anaesthetic or hospital stay and there is short recovery time, generally no down time.
- Natural – a treatment which uses Phosphatidylcholine a substance already produced by the body
Is this treatment safe?
Unlike liposuction and surgery, it is not associated with the risks of general anaesthesia or sedation, and the other complications of surgery.
There has been a lot of research done on this procedure at Monroe Aeshtetics and in general. In addition, an article published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in 2017 found that there had been 990,000 vials of Adipocytolytic solution used by the end of 2016 in the UK with not one single patient reporting any serious reaction.
Rebecca Saunders, being at Harley Street is very experienced in this procedure and has been trained by the best.
Does the skin sag or loosen at treatment area?
Due to the process of the fat being removed is slow the skin has time to tighten rather than leave the skin saggy.
Are the results permanent?
If a diet and exercise is maintained the results of the treatment are permanent.
What are the side effects?
You will discuss the associated risks and side effects during your consultation. Generally, there is no down time and you will be able to carry on with you day.
Some side effects include:
- Bruising
- Swelling
- Heat
- Tenderness
The symptoms are mild most clients continue their normal activities a few days after the treatment.
What is the downtime?
There is most likely going to be swelling, itchiness and the area treated may feel warm. This should go within 24-48 hours. You can still go to work after but it is not recommended.
